Protecting Pension Savers - Proposals to Amend the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Conditions for Transfers) Regulations 2021

This consultation seeks views on proposed amendments to the Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Conditions for Transfers) Regulations 2021. Amendments include a targeted measure to address the risk of fraud within Small Self Administered Schemes (SSASs) and marks the first stage in a broader programme of work relating to pension scams and pension transfers. Further amendments follow the Department’s 2023 review of the regulations, which examined how the transfer conditions were operating in practice and seek to address operational issues.
