Haulier advice site locations

Find sites where HGV and coach drivers can get free COVID-19 tests and check their documents to transport goods to the EU.

At the Department for Transport’s haulier advice sites, drivers and crew of HGVs, LGVs, coaches and vans can:

COVID-19 testing

Hauliers who enter England from abroad need to take tests if they are in England for 2 days or longer.

Hauliers travelling from England should check foreign travel advice for any COVID-19 entry requirements for the countries they are travelling to.

Haulier advice sites are at motorway service stations and truck stops. Most haulier advice sites are open between 6am and 9.30pm, 7 days a week.

PCR tests from Doncaster North haulier advice site

PCR tests are available at the Doncaster North haulier advice site. These tests are only available to drivers using the direct ferry service between Immingham and Cuxhaven.​

PCR tests are available at the following times:

  • 3 January from 5am to 8am
  • 4 January from 7am to 10am
  • 5 January from 8am to 11am
  • 6 January from 10am to 1pm
  • 7 January from 11am to 2pm
  • 8 January from 1pm to 4pm (for the ferry departing at 1am on 9 January)

  1. Added Doncaster North site PCR testing times.

  2. From 29 December, limited PCR tests are available from the Doncaster North haulier advice site for drivers using the direct ferry between Immingham and Cuxhaven.

  3. Added Christmas and New Year opening hours for the haulier advice and COVID-19 testing sites, advice sites aboard ferries and the Hook of Holland advice site.

  4. The following sites have now closed: Barton Park, Beaconsfield, Birchanger Green, Cornwall Services, Ferrybridge Services, Fleet southbound, Heywood Distribution Truck Stop, Leicester Forest East northbound, Michaelwood South, Tamworth Services and the Stockyard Truckstop Rotherham.

  5. The following sites will now close permanently on 26 November at 10pm: Barton Park, Beaconsfield, Birchanger Green, Cornwall Services, Ferrybridge Services, Fleet southbound, Heywood Distribution Truck Stop, Leicester Forest East northbound, Michaelwood South, Tamworth Services and the Stockyard Truckstop Rotherham.

  6. Normal service resumed at Essex Arena and Thurrock Services.

  7. Haulier advice is now available on some cross-Channel ferry routes and at the Hook of Holland port.

  8. Essex Arena is closed from 6.30am on 23 October until 8am on 25 October. Free 24-hour testing for COVID-19 is available at Thurrock Services from 5am on 23 October until 8am on 25 October 2021.

  9. COVID-19 testing and border readiness support ended at Sandbach north and southbound Tuesday 31 August.

  12. The haulier advice and information site at Watford Gap southbound will close at 10pm on 23 May 2021.

  15. Leicester Forest East northbound has reopened.

  16. You no longer need a Kent Access Permit (KAP) to enter Kent.

  17. The haulier advice site at the Holyhead Truck Stop has closed. It will reopen further along Parc Cybi Road at an HMRC facility on 13 April 2021 at 2pm. COVID-19 testing will not be available at the site.

  18. Cannock Roadking, Markham Moor and Pont Abraham sites are now closed.

  19. COVID-19 testing is no longer offered at Thurrock Services.

  20. Essex Arena is open for 24-hour COVID-19 testing only.

  21. Pease Pottage is open from 5am until 9pm for COVID-19 testing only.

  22. COVID-19 testing no longer available at Charnock Richard Services Northbound, Junction 38 Services, Stafford Northbound, Strensham Northbound, Strensham Southbound and Sutton Scotney Northbound.

  23. Cobham Services is open for 24-hour COVID-19 testing.

  24. Baldock Services is open for 24-hour COVID-19 testing only.

  25. Hauliers now need a negative COVID-19 test result before travelling to Germany, as well as France, Denmark and the Netherlands.
