Emergency Evacuation Information Sharing +
Consultation description
This consultation follows on from the Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) consultation, which ran from 8 June to 19 July 2021, and which we have today (18 May 2022) published the formal government response to.
The PEEPs consultation raised significant issues covering 3 broad areas – practicality, proportionality and safety, which means we are currently unable to mandate PEEPs in high-rise residential buildings. Our new EEIS+ consultation therefore seeks views on our alternative proposals to support the fire safety of residents who would need support to evacuate in an emergency.
It’s important that we receive as diverse and broad a range of views as possible to inform our approach, so welcome your engagement with this consultation. We will also run a number of workshops during the consultation period to discuss views in more detail. If you would like to attend or if you have any questions on what is laid out above, please contact Ollie Burrows ollie.burrows@homeoffice.gov.uk
We have included supporting documents below, which include an Impact Assessment, an Equalities Impact Assessment and a Privacy Information Notice.
