Use this course directory to search for existing providers of SKE courses.

This guidance is for School Direct lead schools and initial teacher training (ITT) providers who are referring individuals for SKE courses.

The Department funds SKE courses in:

  • biology
  • chemistry
  • computing
  • design and technology
  • English
  • languages
  • mathematics
  • primary mathematics
  • physics
  • religious education

School Direct is a school-led route into ITT. It is run by a partnership between a lead school, other schools and an accredited teacher training provider.

  1. Region for Leicestershire Secondary SCITT changed from National to East Midlands. Archway Learning Trust deleted from mathematics, religious education and primary mathematics. AAA Eureka MBITT SKE and Yorkshire and Humber Teaching Training added to primary mathematics.

  2. Updated directory - University of Brighton's biology, chemistry and physics courses are now national and delivered online. Archway Learning Trust is no longer offering a long computing course. University of Brighton's maths course is now national. University of Chichester now offers a medium-length maths course.
