Service issues

Problems with monthly postponed import VAT statements

We are aware that some importers had problems accessing March 2022 statements. The issue has now been identified and resolved. March 2022 statements should be available to download.

If you are still experiencing problems with your statements, contact the imports and exports helpline.

If you do not have access to statements but need to complete your VAT Return, you can estimate your import VAT figures for those months.

If you do need to estimate your import VAT and can show that you followed the guidance, then HMRC will not impose penalties on errors that might occur.

Check for issues with your April 2022 statements

There has been a technical issue with statements produced in April 2022. This means your import VAT figures may not have been correct. HMRC has fixed the issue and issued replacement statements.

If you downloaded your April 2022 statement before 16 May 2022, you should not use that statement to complete your VAT Return. To access your replacement statement, visit the statement page on your dashboard and download the version that has replaced the older version. Your new statement will have a publication date of 16 or 17 May.

  4. The planned service downtime will now take place from Tuesday 17 May 2022 11:59pm to 1am Wednesday 18 May 2022.

  5. This service will be unavailable from Monday 16 May 2022 11:59pm to 1am Tuesday 17 May 2022. Information has also been added about problems with postponed import VAT statements for April 2022.

  6. The issue with March 2022 postponed import VAT statements not displaying for some users has now been resolved.

  15. We are making some changes to our online service from 10:30pm to 11:30pm on Friday 7 January 2022. There will be a 60 minute delay to declarations submitted during this time.
