Details

The UK participated in consultations on mackerel, Atlanto-Scandian (Norwegian Spring Spawning) herring and blue whiting in the North East Atlantic Ocean between 14 October and 17 October 2022.

Coastal States consultations are attended by the following parties: UK, EU, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Russia. The parties meet annually to make management decisions on pelagic stocks in the North East Atlantic Ocean.

Coastal States agreed that total allowable catches for 2023Atlanto-Scandian herring, blue whiting, and North East Atlantic mackerel will be set in line with scientific advice for Atlanto-Scandian2023.
