The government recognises the importance of a consistent approach to determining the quality of perpetrator interventions, particularly on safeguarding and victim and survivor safety. In the 2022 Tackling Domestic Abuse Plan we committed to working with Durham University, Respect, and SafeLives to develop a set of overarching national standards and principles for domestic abuse perpetrator interventions. Seven standards have been developed, and each of the 7 standards with linked practice guidelines are discussed in more depth in turn in the document.
