As of 6 April 2025, the monetary thresholds for what qualify as SMEs under the Companies Act 2006 are changing. DBT has updated the Streamlined Routes guidance to confirm that the correct definition of SMEs should be understood by reference to the Companies Act 2006 as was in force in January 2023.
