Details

An origin declaration is a statement that confirms where goods originate.

If you are an exporter or producer, you can choose to provide an origin declaration to an importer. If you do, you need to complete it in accordance with Article 3.19 of the UK-New Zealand free trade agreement (FTA).

The origin declaration does not need to follow a specific format. However, it does need to:

  • contain all the minimum data elements highlighted in Annex 3B of the FTA
  • be provided on or with an invoice relating to the good(s) being exported, as long as all the required information is included

If useful, you can use the optional template on this page which sets out all the required information.

If you are an importer claiming preference using importer’s knowledge, you do not need to complete an origin declaration.
