The map shows the stretches and provisional timings for improving coastal access in the north west of England. Use the links in the table below to find out more information about each stretch.

  1. Map and table updated to show the Silverdale to Cleveleys and Birkenhead to the Welsh Border stretches are now at stage 5.

  2. Map and table updated to show that part of the Cleveleys to Pier Head, Liverpool stretch is now open to the public.

  3. Map and table updated to show that more sections of the Silecroft to Silverdale stretch have been approved.

  4. The final 3 lengths of the Cleveleys to Pier Head, Liverpool stretch have been approved and this is now at stage 5.
