This guidance explains which tax codes employers must changechange, and how to change them and which codes to carry forward ready for the new tax year on 6 April.

  1. The latest version of P9X(2024) — Tax codes to use from 6 April 2024 has been added for both English and Welsh.

  2. The 2023 version of the P9X has been uploaded.

  3. The latest version of P9X(2022) – Tax codes to use from 6 April 2022 has been added in both English and Welsh.

  4. The latest version of P9X(2021) - Tax codes to use from 6 April 2021 has been added in both English and Welsh.

  5. The latest version of P9X(2020) - Tax codes to use from 6 April 2020 has been added in both English and Welsh.

  6. The latest version of P9X(2019) - Tax codes to use from 6 April 2019 has been added in both English and Welsh.

  7. The 2019 version of P9X (English and Welsh) are now available for employers which confirms the tax codes to change and which to carry forward for the new tax year on 6 April.

  8. Scottish Income Tax rates and thresholds have been updated following ratification by the Scottish Parliament.

  9. The 2018 version of P9X (English and Welsh) are now available for employers which confirms the tax codes to change and which to carry forward for the new tax year on 6 April.
