An agreement between policing, health and other relevant partners that sets out the principles around the Right Care, Right Person approach which aims to ensure that individuals in mental health crisis are seen by the right professional.
This agreement is between:
- Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC)
- Home Office
- NHS England
- National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC)
- Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC)
- College of Policing
Further guidance
The College of Policing has produced a toolkit for police forces in England and Wales on how they can implement Right Care, Right Person: Right Care Right Person toolkit.
Further guidance documents to support the implementation of Right Care, Right Person will be published soon. These documents will be for:
- adult social care staff in England
- healthcare staff in England
- Police and Crime Commissioners and equivalents in England and Wales
