This guidance document assists potential applicants planning fishing operations in waters administered under the Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR). It applies to all vessels legally registered in the UK, UK Overseas Territories or Crown Dependencies and was prepared under the Antarctic Act 1994.

The guidance aims to:

  • provide background information to help applicants develop their fishing proposals
  • make the UK government processes undertaken transparent
  • explain the standards you must meet for the UK government to support a fisheries application to CCAMLR
