Laying Hen Housing for Health and Welfare grant round 1

TheRound 1 of the Laying Hen Housing for Health and Welfare grant is available for housing for laying hens and pullets.

You can apply to either:

• replace or upgrade existing laying hen or pullet housing (a ‘comprehensive’ project) or
• add a veranda onto existing laying hen or pullet housing (a ‘veranda-only’ project) to provide animal health and welfare benefits.benefits

Who can apply

You can apply for a grant if you’re:

• an existing commercial egg producer or pullet rearer
• a registered keeper of 1000 or more birds, which must be on site when you fill in the online checker or have been within the last 6 months

When you can apply 

You can now use the online checker to make an initial online application. The online checker will close at 11:59pm on 18 September 2024.

How to apply 

You’ll need to follow a 2-stage application process. You mustare readonly thepermitted guidanceto aboutapply for one project type: ‘comprehensive’ or ‘veranda-only’.

You can make applications for multiple projects up to the maximum grant onamount.

If thisyou pagewant beforeto apply for funding for more than one building, you apply.will need to make a separate application for each.

If you meet all of the eligibility criteria, RPA may invite you to make a full application.
