The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office cannot offer certain notarial and document services in some countries. This includes services like certifying documents and administering oaths and affirmations, for example, that prove you’re free to get married.

If you need one of these services you should find a local lawyer (notary).

If you’re asked to provide proof that a service is not available download the relevant letter as confirmation. You can get a signed and stamped version of a letter, which costs £50.
