Raising product standards for space heating: policy proposals

Improving product standards can save consumers money by reducing their bills, while cutting carbon emissions, and increasing energy security.

We are publishing a summary of proposals to enable electrification of heat, reduce fossil fuel demand, ensure effectiveness of this legislation and improve energy labels. We will launch a consultation on these proposals, and how they could be implemented by updating ecodesign and energy labelling legislation for space and combination heaters, once the draft statutory instrument is ready for publication.
