Details
This information is for institutions selectedthat to deliver T Levels. It explains how we fund T Levels. The scope includes funding for 1616-to to19-year-old 19 year old students, and students up to age 2425 who have an education, health and care plan. This information should be read in conjunction with the ESFA 16 to 19 funding guidance.
A T Level is a level 3 studyprogramme programme, which has been approved by the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education under sections A2DA and A2DB of the Apprenticeships Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009.
Important information on recording T Levels
Making errors in recording your T Level data could have a significant financial impact. It could lead to a larger than expected recovery of funding at the T Level funding reconciliation point in earlyspring 2025. Furthermore, it will also have an impact on the number of T Level students funded for theacademic year 2025 to 2026 academic year.2026.
Some T Level providers have previously recorded students incorrectly in the ILR or school census, so that they appear in funding bands 1 to 5, in some cases this was because the planned hours were recorded for 1 year only instead of 2 years.

We have replaced the T Level and Transition Programme Cost Weightings and funding bands spreadsheet with a version 1.1 to correct an error on the banding of the Education and Childcare T Level qualification. In academic year 2025 to 2026, we fund the generation 2 qualification at band 6, the same funding band as its generation 1 equivalent.
