Section 2 of this code provides guidance on the procedures to be followed when acquisition of communications data takes place under the provisions in Partpart 3 of the ActInvestigatory (‘PartPowers 3’).Act.

The Sectionprevious section 3 of this code providesprovided guidance on the procedures to be followed when communications data is retained under Partpart 4 of the ActInvestigatory (‘PartPowers 4’).Act. This is now included in the national security notices code of practice.
