Details

Castlemartin is on Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (PCNPA) land, and popular with climbers, surfers and the like.

Changes to firing times and road closure can happen without notice. Please phone 07971708587 from 8.15am for daily updates.

Your safety

All visitors to Range West must attend a robust access briefing before entering the area.

Do not enter the danger area when the range is in use, this is a danger to life. Learn more about accessing MOD training areas safely.

Major upcoming exercises

The Army will be using Castlemartin Training Area for three large-scale exercises in 2025 in addition to standard training.

9 to 27 June 2025
13 October to 7 November 2025
17 November to 5 December 2025

These are critical exercises which will train our troops ahead of future deployments as well as any potential future operational requirements in the UK or overseas.

Firing will take place between these times:

Monday: 8am to 6pm and 8pm to 3am
Tuesday: 8am to 6pm and 8pm to 3am
Wednesday: 8am to 6pm and 8pm to 3am
Thursday: 8am to 6pm and 8pm to 3am
Friday: 8am to 6pm
