Control bodies certify organic food, feed, seed and other agricultural products in the UK.
If your company trades with organic products, it must be certified by an approved UK organic control body. Find out more on when your company needs certification.
You can decide which control body to register with based on your location and business needs.
The approved organic control bodies can:
certify your business to produce, prepare, store, import, export, market or sell organic products as organic
guide you on the requirements for importing and exporting organic products
inspect certified businesses at least once a year – this may involve sampling and testing your organic products
approve your organic labelling
You can also report suspected issues with organic products to the control body to investigate.
