This consultation covers 4 proposals relating to the Local Government Pension Scheme in England and Wales (‘the LGPS’). The proposals relate to access to the scheme and its benefits, and cover: 

  • Normal Minimum Pension Age
  • pension access for mayors and councillors
  • academies in the LGPS
  • new Fair Deal

A draft set of regulations for the proposals on pension access for mayors and councillors, as well as new Fair Deal, have also been published for comment.
