Consultation description
We want to hear your views on government proposals to extend:
- the UK REACH deadlines for businesses to submit dossiers for transitional registrations
- the dates for the Health and Safety Executive (the UK REACH agency) to carry out compliance checks on 20% of registration dossiers
The current transitional registration deadlines are:
- October 2026
- October 2028
- October 2030
The type and quantity of the substance will determine the deadline.
As the first of these deadlines is fast approaching, government intervention is necessary to provide sufficient time to develop and implement an alternative transitional registration model and reduce the likelihood of companies making nugatory investment towards complying with existing deadlines.
The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has published a statement on the consistency of the proposed amendments with the aims of the UK REACH Regulation.
