Details

This Statutory Instrument (SI) revokes the Authorisation of Frequency Use for the Provision of Mobile Satellite Services (European Union) Regulations 2010 (“the 2010 Regulations”), which implemented European Union decisions to authorise two Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) operators to use radio frequencies in the 2 GHz band until 13 May 2027, and which were retained in UK law following EU exit.

Revocation of the 2010 Regulations will ensure the UK’s legal framework remains fit for purpose and enable Ofcom to authorise future use of the 2 GHz band under domestic law.
