The Special Development Order was laid in Parliament on 15 January 2025 and willcame come into force on 5 February 2025.

The Town and Country Planning (Northwood Headquarters) Special Development Order 2025

An Explanatory Memorandum accompanies the Special Development Order. This provides an explanation of the effect of the legislation and why it is necessary.

The Special Development Order grants planning permission for the carrying out of certain classes of development at Northwood Headquarters, for the purpose of national defence, by or on behalf of the Secretary of State for Defence.

Further documents will be made available in due course.
