Details

When referred to in an environmental permit these rules will allow the operator to operate one or more Tranche B Specified Generators which are natural gas fired engines or boilers which are CHPs. The individual unit capacity is between <1 to 2 MWth and the total is <2.0 MWth at the specified location which may be in urban areas where background NO2 is high or in an Air Quality Management Area. Secondary abatement where necessary.

Applies to Specified Generators burning natural gas.

  1. Following a consultation, amendments have been made to Table 2.3 operating technique (e) wording. The rule set has also been withdrawn for new applications and is now only relevant to existing permit holders. Previous versions of the rule set and GRA have been removed as they are no longer applicable.
