Details

The Information Commissioner’s Office has issued a closed call for views on draft guidance on international transfer of personal information.

Chapter 5 of part 3 of the Data Protection Act 2018 places limits on the circumstances when a competent authority under the act can transfer personal information to a recipient outside the UK for law enforcement purposes.

The draft guidance provides guidance on what these transfers are, when the provisions on international transfers apply, and sets out what competent authorities need to do to comply with the legislation.
