Fishing vessel certifying authorities
Fishing vessel certifying authorities authorised to conduct new build surveys of fishing vessels in accordance with MSN1871MSN 1871 The Code of Practice for the Safety of Small Fishing Vessels of less than 15m Length Overall; and registration surveys of fishing vessels.
The following are authorised Fishing Vessel Certifying Authorities:

- The Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyors (SCMS).
Please contact the Fishing Vessel Certifying Authority directly to discuss the specific authorisations provided by MCA to conduct new build surveys and plan approvals for commercial fishing vessels in accordance with MSN1871 and MGN 628 (M+F) and registration surveys in accordance with MGN 630 (F).
