This impact assessment on the UK-India Free Trade Agreement builds on the analysis that was published in the technical note of the preliminary economic impacts of the UK-India Free Trade Agreement. The purpose of the impact assessment is to provide Parliament and the public with information on the potential economic impacts of the agreement.
This includes an assessment of impacts on the UK’s regions and nations, sectors, employment, environment, consumers and businesses as well as the potential impacts on developing countries.

The analytical modelling used to identify potential impacts on developing countries from Free Trade Agreements has been reviewed and revised. These revisions have led to minor changes being made in the products identified from the preference erosion analysis. An updated iteration of Table 25: Developing countries' exports, identified as being at potential risk of trade diversion from a UK-India FTA (2021 to 2023 average, calculations on HMRC trade data), has been included.
