Details

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) invites applications from carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) projects seeking to connect to the East Coast Cluster (ECC) Teesside network by 2032 via non-pipeline transportation.  

DESNZ will assess applications through the non-pipeline transport (NPT) Pathfinder selection process to identify projects that could connect to the network and make use of remaining capacity at the Endurance offshore site. 

The NPT Pathfinder Selection Process will run alongside the ECC Teesside Selection Process which launched 5 February 2026. See further details of the ECC Teesside Selection Process. 

Key dates 

  • engagement session: week commencing 4 May 2026 

  • expression of interest deadline: 11.59pm on 12 May 2026 

  • application window closes: 11.59pm on 12 June 2026 

How to apply 

You must submit a completed expression of interest (EOI) form  by 11.59pm on 12 May 2026. Send your EOI  form to  NPTPathfinder@energysecurity.gov.uk.

If you submit an EOI by the deadline, DESNZ will provide you with access to the online submission portal.

If you have questions about the selection process, please read Chapter 2 of the application guidance for the clarification process and email your questions to NPTPathfinder@energysecurity.gov.uk. 

What you need to submit 

The initial cost assessment forms (annex B) will be published on this page shortly.

Once you have access, you will need to submit the following forms via the online submission portal  by 11.59pm on 12 June 2026: 

  • annex A: project plan forms (Power,  ICC and Waste, Hydrogen, GGR, Power BECCS) 
  • annex B: initial cost assessment forms (this form will be available on this page shortly)
  • annex C: financial statement 
  • annex D1: economic benefits form 
  • annex D2: supply chain information
