On 25 March 2025 the Environment Agency served a Notice of Revocation of an Environmental Permit under Regulation 22 of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 on Reclamet (Holdings) Limited. The Notice stated that the Environment Agency had decided to revoke the environmental permit for this regulated facility with effect from 22 April 2025 due to breach of permit conditions because of significant noise pollution from the permitted activities, and the operator failing to identify appropriate measures to prevent or minimise the noise. On 28 April 2025 Reclamet (Holdings) Limited made an appeal against the Notice to the Planning Inspectorate to be heard by way of a Public Inquiry. The public inquiry will convene on 20 -22 May 2026 at the Darwin Suite, University of Kent at Canterbury.
