Supporting prisoners with care experience policy framework

This policy framework sets out expectations for prisons to identify, understand and support people in custody who have care experience. It is for governors, prison staff, and all others working in custody, including contracted prisons.

The framework explains mandatory actions and provides additional guidance on improving staff awareness, increasing identification, working with local authority leaving care teams, and ensuring appropriate access to entitlements and services.
