DfT register of business critical models

This document lists the business critical analytical models held within the Department for Transport (DfT). Business critical models are analytical models that either:

• have a significant influence over finance and funding or departmental operations
• are necessary to the achievement of a departmental business plan
• produce analysis where an error could have a significant reputational, economic or legal implications

Publishing lists of business critical models was recommended by Sir Nicholas Macpherson’s 2013 review of the quality assurance of government analytical models. These lists support transparency and encourage good practice in quality assurance.
