FCDO Areas of Research Interest

The Areas of Research Interest’s purpose is to promote collaboration and engagement across government and the wider research community in the UK and globally. The document provides guidance about the topics where FCDO believes further research is most likely to inform and support policy-making on international priorities.

Further objectives include:

• sustaining a dialogue with external expertise on FCDO research interests
• welcoming the submission of evidence to help build the knowledge base and stimulate future collaboration
• communicating FCDO research interests to other government departments to allow cross-cutting themes to be identified
• building new and strengthening existing partnerships in the UK and globally
