TheThis Iranregime (Sanctions)provides Regulations 2023 were made under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 (‘the Sanctions Act’) and provide for the impositiondesignation of financialindividuals sanctions, namely the freezing of funds and economicentities resources of persons who are or have been involved in the commission of a serious human rights violations or abuse in Iran; or hostile activity by the Government of Iran or an armed group backed by the Government of Iran.

Ships may be specified as set out in regulation 51.

Content of sanctions notices

Each notice sets out for the relevant date the:

• additions – new designations
• delistings – removals from the list following a decision by the UN
• revocations – removals from the list following an official decision-making process
• variations – changes to a designation following an official decision-making process
• corrections – administrative amendments

How the changes are represented

For additions the notice lists the new entry.

For delistings and revocations the notice lists the entries that are being removed.

For variations and corrections:

• deleted information appears in strikethrough and highlighted in pinkred
• newly added information is underlined and highlighted in yellow
