We are all exposed to electromagnetic fields from a variety of natural and artificial sources.

People’s exposures during their everyday lives tend to be dominated by contributions from manmade sources.

Electromagnetic fields have photon energies that are many orders of magnitude below that at which ionisation occurs or chemical bonds in cells are disrupted. Because of this, electromagnetic fields are often termed as “non-ionising radiation”.
