Anniversary Statement: LS8-E glider, G-CMMG

This statement provides an update on the ongoing AAIB investigation into an accident involving an LS8-E glider, G-CMMG, which struck the ground near Milston in Wiltshire whilst attempting  a field landing.

The glider was substantially damaged and the single occupant escaped but was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.  The investigation is ongoing and the AAIB is reviewing the process for contacting the emergency services in the event of an aircraft accident. A final report will be published in due course.
