Details

The Data Protection Act 2018 requires organisations who process personal data to meet certain legal obligations.

These are contained within the Data Protection principles. HMRC is a data controller within the meaning of the act and processes large volumes of personal data.

The section covering 'The kind of information we hold about you' has been updated to include that we process data about prospective employees, The section 'How your personal information is collected' has been updated to confirm that we collect data when you apply for a job and that we can also collect personal information from previous employers and referees. The section 'How we use you information' have been updated to confirm that we'll use your personal information where it’s necessary for our legitimate interests including for HR and recruitment purposes. Information about fraudsters has been added to the 'Data security' section and a new section covering 'Artificial Intelligence and machine learning' has been added.
