Pro-Worker AI Adoption Prize: how to nominate

How to nominate a UK organisation for the Pro-Worker AI Adoption Prize, recognising organisations using AI that benefits workers.

Overview

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is launching the Pro-Worker AI Adoption Prize.

The prize recognises and promotes UK organisations that adopt AI in ways that increase productivity, provide workers with new capabilities and create new jobs.

The top 50 organisations will be shortlisted by an expert judging panel chaired by Nobel Prize-winning economist Simon Johnson.

Leading UK business school professors will write detailed case studies on the 3 winning organisations to show how AI can benefit businesses and their workers. This work will be funded by grants from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

Who can nominate

Nominations are open to UK businesses, charities and public sector organisations of all sizes, across all sectors of the economy.

Nominated organisations must employ at least 10 people based in the UK.

You can only submit one nomination per organisation.

We encourage nominations from:

  • businesses adopting pro-worker AI
  • workers
  • trade unions
  • investors

What we’re looking for

We want to hear about organisations using AI that benefits workers. This could include AI that:

  • increases productivity
  • provides workers with new capabilities
  • creates new roles or jobs
  • creates new products or services in a way that boosts demand for human expertise
  • puts workers’ voices at the centre of AI adoption

Why this matters

AI is advancing rapidly and will have a transformative impact on the UK economy, businesses and workers. Research shows that awareness of AI use cases is one of the top 3 barriers to AI adoption in the UK, alongside skills and trust.

How to nominate

Nominations are open until 11:55pm on 30 September 2026. Read this guidance before completing the nomination form. The nomination form takes around 20 minutes to complete.
