This is the government response to the adoption of trust services call for views that launched on 4 August 2025 and ran for 6 weeks.
The call for views has helped inform the government’s understanding of the sector and identified areas where further evidence is needed.

Call for evidence description
Trust services, like electronic signatures, are digital tools that make online transactions more secure and reliable. They do this by confirming the authenticity and integrity of electronic documents and transactions.
This call for views aims to collect essential information about the UK trust service market to help inform government policy development.
This call for views is aimed at organisations who:
- provide trust services in the UK
- use or are considering using trust services
If responses suggest government action is needed, we will seek to gather information more widely, including from individuals.
