Details

This statutory guidance includes the powers that were already available to police in the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 and new powers introduced by the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022. The new powers deliver on the government’s manifesto commitment to tackle unauthorised encampments and the harms caused by trespassers refusing to leave land and causing harm to communities and landowners.
