This chapter reinforces the UK and India’s commitment to promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth, by incorporating trade as a tool for poverty reduction in third-party developing countries.

The chapter includes provisions on exchanging information and sharing best practices on trade and development policies and programmes, as well as a commitment for cooperation and joint advocacy in international fora related to trade and development.

This chapter includes a commitment on monitoring the effects of the agreement on developing countries, allowing risks to be identified and opportunities for development to be supported.

As well as including a standalone development chapter, we have also incorporated development into other inclusive trade chapters, such as gender and services.
