The wreck of RMS Titanic is protected by international agreements.

Anyone wishing to explore or investigate the wreck must apply for a licence to do so.

The Department for Transport is the licensing authority for UK nationals and UK-flagged vessels. The department is advised in this by Historic England.

This guidance explains what you need to do to apply for a licence.
