This approved data standard relates to Thethe Planning Data (England) Regulations 2026 which have a commencement date of 7 May 2026. You may follow this approved data standard before that date.
For plans under the legacy plan-making system
If you are submitting your plan under the legacy system, use the create or update a local plan legacy system guidance.
The legacy system covers plans to be adopted under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004,2004 excluding(excluding the amendments made by the LURA, andLURA) and the The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.
Local planning authorities and minerals and waste planning authorities must follow the approved planning data standard for:
- local plan timetables
- minerals and waste plan timetables
- local plan housing requirement
