MIN 655 Amendment 1 (M+F) new-style certificates for UK seafarers and those working onboard UK ships

This Marine Information Note (MIN) provides information on the format of STCW Certificates of Competency (CoC), GMDSS and Flag State Endorsement / Certificates of Equivalent Competency (FSE/CEC) issued by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), including sample images of existing and new certificates.

This MIN should be read with MIN 690: Guidance on the MCA Oral Examination Booking, the Issue of Notices of Eligibility (NOEs) and the Online Oral Examination Processes - Amendment 6 and replaces the previous version of MIN 655.

Amendment 1 of this MIN specifically includes the updated format for the Electronic UK FSE.

This MIN also provides information on the current application process that seafarers should follow to obtain and revalidate certification from the MCA.
