General mentor training grant: conditions of grant, 2026 to 2027

These are the terms and conditions for the general mentor training grant for the 2026 to 2027 academic year.

Mentors support trainee teachers to get the knowledge and skills they need to complete their initial teacher training (ITT) school placement.

The grant helps with the cost of mentors being away from the classroom when they train.

The guidance is for schools. You must accept these conditions of grant on the Claim funding for mentor training service before you can make any claims.
