ExplainsThis guidance sets out the deadlines for schools wanting to open as an academy in a chosen month.

  1. Added the key dates for schools converting to academy status on 1 December 2023 and 1 January, 1 March, 1 April, 1 May and 1 June 2024. Removed the dates for schools converting to academy status on 1 June, 1 July, 1 August, 1 September, 1 October 2023 as the dates have now passed.
