This guidance sets out the deadlines for schools wanting to open as an academy in a chosen month.

  1. Added key dates for schools converting to academy status on 1 May, 1 June and 1 July 2025. Removed the dates for schools converting to academy status on 1 November and 1 December 2024 and 1 January and 1 February 2025, as those dates have now passed.
