Details

Managing the human health risk of avian influenza in poultry and wild birds guidance gives advice for health protection teams in preparing for and managing the human health risk from exposure to a suspected or confirmed avian influenza incident. It should be read alongside the avian influenza H5N1 interim contact tracing guidance for the 2022 to 2023 season.

Note there is separate guidance for the management and public health response to human cases of avian influenza.

Patient group direction templates for avian influenza incidents have been published for local authorisation purposes.
