Key stage 2 tests: how to access results and test scripts

Information for headteachers, teachers and local authorities about accessing 20232024 test results, scaled score conversion tables, marked scripts and test papers.

Accessing test results and scaled scores

AtThe 7:30am2024 onkey Tuesdaystage 112 July,(KS2) wetest results will publishbe keypublished stageat 27:30am (KS2)on testTuesday results.9 July. Schools should access the ‘View and download KS2 test results’ form in the ‘Available activity’ section of the the Primary Assessment Gateway (PAG) alongside alongside the the scaled score conversion tables on GOV.UK.

We recommend schools nominate one PAG user within their organisation to view and download their test results on the morning of Tuesday 119 July.

Schools The results will be ablevisible toin view2 andifferent overallways:

  • a results summary page,page showing their pupils’ scaled scores for all subjects,subjects andfor each student
  • a more detailed results page providing a deeper look for each subject, showingincluding their pupils’ raw scores, scaled scores and test outcomes.

Schools will also be able to download their test results in the following formats:

  • common transfer file (CTF),(CTF) containing all test results or all test results with teacher assessment data
  • comma-separated values (CSV) file,file containing all test results, all test results with teacher assessment data or test results for specific subjects
  • results letter,letter containing all test results or test results for specific subjects

Local authorities and multi-academy trusts

Local authorities and multi-academy trusts will be able to view and download test results in the same formats available to schools. They can choose to download results for all their schools and academies as either a combined file or by selecting the individual school or academy from a pre-populated list.

Key stage 3 schools

Schools with a key stage 3 intake will be able to download results for their incoming year 7 pupils from Wednesday 1210 July. These schools can enter their unique pupil numbers (UPNs) in the ‘Search for pupils’ KS2 results’ form in the ‘Available activity’ section of the PAG.

TestReviewing test scripts

Almost all test scripts will have been scanned and marked on screen. Schools will be able to view and download copies of their pupils’ marked test scripts by selecting the ‘test paper score’ hyperlink. ThisYou can befind foundthis byafter selecting the test subject within the ‘View and download KS2 test results’ form in the ‘Available activity’ section of the PAG.

Test paper scores without a hyperlink indicate athat hardthe copy test script that has been marked on paper. TheseThe hard copies of these scripts will be returned to schools by Tuesday 119 JulyJuly. andThey will contain the marking annotations.annotations, Thebut the total pupil result will only be available on the PAG.
