Your travel insurance could be invalidated if you travel against advice from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Consular support is also severely limited where FCDO advises against travel.

Violence in Bangladesh
There has been widespread violence across Bangladesh, including resulting in deaths. The situation is becoming calmer but remains volatile and unpredictable. There may be protests on 15 August 2024. You are advised to avoid crowded areas, remain cautious and follow the advice of local authorities.
Dhaka international and Sylhet airports are currently operating subject to delays and cancellations. Passengers should contact their airlines.
Due to the ongoing situation in Bangladesh, family members of British High Commission staff have been temporarily withdrawn. The British High Commission continues with essential work including assistance to British nationals.
